Huntington, W.Va.-- In a recent development, Jeremy Smith, 42, has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident that took place on Wednesday morning at the Huntington City Mission, as per court records.
According to the criminal complaint filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court, Smith faces a charge of malicious assault. The altercation, which occurred around 7:45 a.m., allegedly involved Smith cutting or stabbing another individual twice in the shoulder area within the dining facility.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers swiftly located Smith, identified by witnesses as the aggressor, and took him into custody.
The victim, who sustained wounds in the incident, was promptly transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
Smith is presently in custody with a bond set at $50,000.
During the reported stabbing, which transpired in the 1000 block of Seventh Avenue near the Huntington City Mission, an altercation between two individuals resulted in one person sustaining cuts. The injured individual was subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment.
