Delaware Man Apprehended for Robbery in Magnolia: Suspect Faces Multiple Charges

 


Delaware State Police have taken 35-year-old Antonio Vilone of Harrington, Delaware into custody for his alleged involvement in a robbery that took place in Magnolia last month.


On August 8, 2023, around 3:06 p.m., troopers responded to a residence on the 100 block of Riley Drive in Magnolia following a reported robbery. At the scene, troopers made contact with the 22-year-old victim and learned that an acquaintance, identified as Antonio Vilone, had approached her while she was seated in her car. Vilone reportedly spat on the victim and demanded her car keys, all the while threatening her with a hammer. Complying with the demands, the victim handed over her keys, after which Vilone fled in the victim’s tan 2002 Chevrolet Suburban. Despite a search of the vicinity for Vilone and the vehicle, neither were found, and the victim sustained no injuries.


On September 19, 2023, members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force endeavored to locate Vilone, who was sought for multiple felony warrants, including the August 8th robbery, and also had an active capias for a violation of probation. Troopers spotted Vilone operating a Chevrolet Silverado in the vicinity of Unity Lane and Deep Grass Lane in Houston. An attempt to conduct a traffic stop was met with disregard from Vilone, who subsequently evaded arrest during the ensuing vehicle pursuit. On September 20, 2023, around 5:17 p.m., detectives managed to locate Vilone on the 10000 block of South Old State Road in Ellendale. Spotting troopers, Vilone fled on foot through a parking lot, but was ultimately subdued and taken into custody after being tased.


Vilone was transported to Troop 3 where he was formally charged with the following offenses:


- Robbery 1st Degree (Felony)

- Aggravated Menacing (Felony)

- Theft Greater than $1500 (Felony)

- Offensive Touching

- Terroristic Threatening


Vilone underwent arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 7 for the aforementioned charges, in addition to all active warrants and capias. He has been remanded to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $35,000 cash bond. The legal proceedings will now unfold as the community awaits further developments in this case.
