Honolulu, Hawaii - Honolulu's law enforcement and emergency response teams swiftly reacted to a vehicular accident involving two cars in the early hours of Saturday morning, situated in Aiea.
According to official statements, a 19-year-old adult female motorist was heading southward on the Hickam overpass in the incorrect lane when her vehicle collided with a 28-year-old male motorist traveling northbound.
The impact caused the 28-year-old male driver to lose control of his vehicle, resulting in a collision with a concrete barrier. His car subsequently went airborne over the wall, ultimately coming to a rest upside down on the H1 West Freeway / Arizona Memorial off-ramp, situated beneath the overpass.
Authorities have reported that the 28-year-old male driver was urgently transported to a local hospital via Honolulu EMS and is currently in critical condition.
The 19-year-old adult female motorist was also taken to a nearby medical facility, where she remains in serious condition.
In light of the circumstances, the female driver has been taken into custody on suspicion of "Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of an Intoxicant."
