Inmate Found Dead at Bexar County Jail, Investigation Ongoing

SAN ANTONIO - A 33-year-old inmate, identified as Manuel Perez, was discovered unresponsive in his cell following a medical episode on Friday morning at the Bexar County Jail.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded promptly to the jail, where they pronounced Perez deceased shortly after noon.

While initial indications suggest that Perez may have succumbed to natural causes, the precise cause of death will be determined by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office, which will conduct a thorough examination.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Perez's demise.

It should be noted that Perez had been incarcerated in the jail on September 24, facing an assault charge at the time of his passing. As the inquiry progresses, further details will likely emerge to shed light on the incident.
