The Southeast Missouri Major Case Squad has been called in to aid in an ongoing homicide inquiry following the discovery of a deceased woman in a residence.
The Sikeston Department of Public Safety received a report at approximately 9 a.m. on Monday, September 18, regarding a potential missing person.
Upon arrival at the residence in the 100 block of Broadway, officers conducted a thorough search of the premises. It was within the confines of the missing person's abode that they uncovered the lifeless body of a 49-year-old woman.
The victim has been identified as Carolyn Kelso Hann.
Given the circumstances surrounding her demise, officers harbored suspicions of foul play, leading to the activation of the Southeast Missouri Major Case Squad. The squad's involvement aims to facilitate a comprehensive investigation into this tragic incident.
