Hamilton County, Ohio -- In a disheartening development, Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers announced on Wednesday that a man has been indicted on multiple counts, accused of sexually assaulting several children.
Keith Cruz, 52, faces four counts of rape and six counts of gross sexual imposition. Should he be convicted on all charges, Cruz could potentially be sentenced to life imprisonment, according to Powers.
The indictment outlines allegations that Cruz sexually assaulted numerous children, with ages ranging between 4 and 9 years old, spanning from 2011 to 2015.
It is asserted in the indictment that Cruz employed various means to gain access to his victims, either through establishing romantic relationships with their mothers or by means of temporary living arrangements.
"This man followed a very specific pattern of behavior. We believe he was targeting single mothers to gain access to their children," Powers stated.
Cruz's parents conveyed to WLWT that they first learned about the recent indictment through news reports. His mother revealed that the allegations had been investigated years ago, and she had believed the case was dropped.
