Ocean City, New Jersey Braces for Impending Storm: Residents Prepare for High Winds and Potential Flooding
In Ocean City, New Jersey, vigilant eyes are fixed on the approaching storm, with a sense of foreboding settling in. What was once the calm before the storm has already given way to signs of increasing winds. The forecast warns of wind gusts reaching up to 50 miles per hour on Saturday, coupled with an expected deluge of several inches of rain. This combination heightens concerns of potential flooding.
Tom Montague, who traveled from Bucks County with his wife, Nancy, to Ocean City on Friday evening, shared his mission: "Just trying to get the toys out of the water so that the storm doesn't wash them away." Tom, retrieving his jet ski, described the conditions as "a little windy" and "a little choppy," yet maintained that riding the jet ski was an enjoyable experience.
Returning home to hunker down on Saturday, Tom reflected on their plans, "I would've liked to do some yard work, but I don't think that's going to happen. So I will probably just clean inside and probably get all the outside furniture in while we can," added Nancy. The couple is taking necessary precautions to safeguard their belongings in the face of the impending weather.
