Delaware State Police took 41-year-old Eric Davis of Seaford, Delaware, into custody on Thursday morning on drug-related charges.
On September 14, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force conducted patrols near an unoccupied property situated on the 22000 block of Neal Road in Lincoln, Delaware. This location had become a known hotspot for illicit drug activities linked to Eric Davis. While conducting their surveillance, detectives observed Davis pulling up to the abandoned property in a Chevrolet Silverado. They then witnessed what appeared to be multiple drug transactions. The detectives approached Davis and detained him. During the apprehension, they spotted drugs in plain view on the center console of his vehicle. This prompted the detectives to secure search warrants for Davis’s vehicle, the vacant property, and a camper located on the premises. The ensuing search yielded the following discoveries:
- 26,013 bags containing approximately 182 grams of suspected heroin
- 4.13 grams of crack cocaine
- Over $1,000 believed to be proceeds from drug dealing
- Various items of drug paraphernalia
Davis was transported to Troop 4, where he was formally charged with the following offenses:
1. Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 3 Quantity (Felony)
2. Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 3 Quantity (Felony)
3. Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
4. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 2 counts
Davis appeared before Justice of the Peace Court 3 for arraignment and was subsequently remanded to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $100,000 cash bond.
