FLORIDA — Joseph Bryan Howard, 19, who stands accused in the tragic shooting deaths of two Columbus women, including his sister, has been taken into custody in Florida, as reported by ABC 6 News.
According to a news release from U.S Marshals, Howard was arrested on Monday in Largo, Fla., located in Pinellas County, near Tampa.
The allegations against Howard involve the shooting of his sister, Taya Mollette, and Tavia Copley, both 24 years old, during an altercation at Double D's Pub on South High Street two weeks prior. Another individual sustained injuries but was anticipated to recover.
While the news release did not provide specific details regarding the circumstances of Howard's arrest, it stated that he is presently held at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office "pending his extradition back to Columbus."
