Green Township, Ohio — Tragedy struck on Wednesday evening when a fatal crash occurred in Green Township, Ohio, claiming the life of 28-year-old Anthony Griffith from Harrison.
The incident took place at approximately 11:07 p.m. Emergency response teams from Green Township Fire and EMS swiftly mobilized to the scene, located on the westbound lanes of Interstate 74.
Preliminary investigations by Green Township police unveiled that Griffith, the driver, was heading westbound on I-74 when his vehicle swerved off the road, colliding with a concrete drain. Subsequently, the vehicle became airborne, tumbling multiple times and tragically ejecting Griffith from the car.
Tragically, Griffith was pronounced deceased at the scene, as confirmed by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.
At the time of the accident, the vehicle was unoccupied.
Green Township police have indicated that factors such as alcohol/drug impairment and excessive speed may have played a role in the crash. It was also noted that Griffith was not wearing his seatbelt when the incident occurred.
