Reggie Bullock, coming off a productive season with the Dallas Mavericks, is on the verge of securing a new chapter in his NBA career.
During the previous season, the 32-year-old swingman showcased his skills by participating in 78 regular-season games for the Dallas Mavericks. His contributions on the court were notable, with Bullock averaging 7.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He displayed accuracy from the field, shooting at a 40.9% clip, and showcased his long-range proficiency with a 38.0% success rate from beyond the arc.
However, this summer saw Bullock's journey take a different turn as he was traded from the Mavericks to the San Antonio Spurs. Recent reports by Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium indicate that the Spurs and Bullock have reached an agreement on a contract buyout.
Charania further reports that Bullock is poised to join the Houston Rockets, pending the completion of the waiver process. In Charania's own words: "Free agent Reggie Bullock plans to sign with the Houston Rockets after he clears waivers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Bullock – a 38.4% 3-point shooter over 10 NBA seasons – fielded interest from several teams following buyout and gives Houston a reliable 3&D wing."
Reggie Bullock's NBA journey has taken him through various teams, including the Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Phoenix Suns. Across his decade-long career in the league, he has maintained steady averages of 7.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. His proficiency as a shooter is underscored by a career shooting percentage of 42.5% from the field and an impressive 38.4% from three-point range.
As for the Houston Rockets, they aim to rebound from a challenging season in which they finished as the 14th seed in the Western Conference with a 22-60 record, marking their third consecutive absence from the NBA playoffs. Nevertheless, the franchise has made significant offseason additions, raising expectations for the upcoming season.
