Taylor Swift Praises Sabrina Carpenter's Captivating Cover of "I Knew You Were Trouble"

In a heartwarming show of mutual admiration, Taylor Swift expressed her delight over Sabrina Carpenter's rendition of her hit song "I Knew You Were Trouble."

Swift took to her Instagram Stories to commend Carpenter, sharing a screenshot of the Disney actress' interpretation of the Red album hit for Spotify Singles, released on Wednesday (Oct. 18). The pop icon captioned the post with a resounding endorsement: "Well she nailed it," accompanied by two clapping and two hand-heart emojis. Swift also made sure to tag the 24-year-old performer.

"I Knew You Were Trouble" soared to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 2013 and remained on the chart for an impressive 36 weeks.

Carpenter put her own unique spin on Swift's original pop track, delivering it as a soulful acoustic ballad that showcased her evocative vocals. Alongside "I Knew You Were Trouble," the singer-actress also presented her own composition "Feather," featured on the deluxe edition of her album, *Emails I Can't Send Fwd.*

The upcoming mega Eras World Tour will see the "Vicious" singer join forces with Swift in November, as the international leg kicks off with a series of three shows at Rio de Janeiro’s Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos. Following performances in South America, including stops in Argentina and Brazil, Carpenter will rejoin the 12-time Grammy winner for a set of shows in Australia and Singapore throughout February and March.

Reflecting on the experience of touring with Swift, Carpenter shared her profound admiration for the iconic artist, stating, "That is one of my main inspirations ever since I was a little girl, and now to just be able to watch that show every night is going to be so special. Watching her in and of itself is how you learn. I admire her work ethic and her talent and she’s just so amazing."
