GREAT FALLS — The Judith Basin County Sheriff's Office has reported that two individuals are now in custody following the discovery of a deceased man on Monday, October 2, 2023.
Sheriff's deputies were summoned to perform a welfare check at a residence located near Hobson around 4:40 p.m. on Monday, where they encountered the lifeless body of a man in his 30s within the residence.
As of now, the identity of the deceased individual remains undisclosed, pending notification of family members.
Authorities have detained two "parties of interest" in connection with the case, although their names have not been disclosed at this juncture.
The Sheriff's Office has reassured the community, stating that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
The Montana Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation is collaborating with the Sheriff's Office to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
